This is Gnomeregan! Let’s-a go, little gnomes!

It is one of those weeks where I have more than one transmog to show you. I confess I love those weeks because it means that I have come across things that excite me within the World of Warcraft (WoW) transmog scene.

I am very proud to present a fellow member of on Wyrmrest Accord, who has made two transmogs which can be classified as cosplay within WoW. The title of this post may have given the first one away, so without further ado I present Waldonarvis the Kingslayer on Wyrmrest Accord US.

leo1.1 leo.1For anyone who has seen the movie “300”, I think we can agree that this transmog is a very well executed Spartan look, especially of the Spartan leader Leonidas. If you do not know who I am talking about right now please search for some images online so that you can see the resemblance.

Item List:

Head: Supple Helm
Shoulders: Mushan Hide Spaulders
Back: Vibrant Silk Cape
Chest: Warden’s Wraps
Bracers: Rageclaw Bracers
Hands: Rageclaw Gloves
Waist: Rageclaw Belt
Legs: Rageclaw Leggings
Feet: Sandals of the Insurgent
Weapon: Bonechewer

This transmog captures the essence of Leonidas so well, that it is instantly recognisable to anyone who has seen the movie. Those of you who may not have seen it probably realised that this Gnome is a Spartan warrior anyway as the look is quite iconic.  I commend Waldonarvis for having chosen a very plain looking red cloak to complete this look rather than be tempted by the richer looking fabrics and trims. The very simple polearm looks very similar to what the Spartan army probably used as well. Just imagine a round shield on the other arm in your minds eye.

Next up is Shintobeans, Hellscream’s Downfall on Fenris US. This gnome is played by the same person as Waldonarvis, but as you can see on a different realm. Did my double title give you enough hints for the transmog to come?

I am sure, like myself you have at least 4-5 quotes playing in your mind right about now. Of course this requires you to have played a rather famous game character outside of WoW, who I am sure needs no formal introduction.  The grin on my face could not be taken away when I saw and hung out with my new friend to take these screenshots.

I just can’t even…. how well thought out is this? Am I right?

Thank you Waldonarvis/Shintobeans for letting me show off your epic in-game cosplay transmog outfits!  I look forward to seeing what else you come up with in the future.

Have any of you seen a cosplay within the game lately, or do you have one to show me? I would love to hear about them. Until then, thanks for reading and see you next time.

Sensational Stranger: Monk

Welcome to my second sensational stranger post. These posts are dedicated to player’s transmogs with whom I was unable to speak, but want to show off their Azerothian style anyway without revealing their character’s name. This lovely Monk was standing in Warspear a few days ago, and was AFK (away from keyboard). I was very interested in this striking purple transmog and decided that I wanted to share it here.

monk.1.1

It is a great mix of old and new armour pieces, and they stand out beautifully against the blood elf’s pale complexion and hair.  I know that there can be some controversy around players that dress their characters in revealing attire, but I think that here it is quite tastefully done.

Item List:

Head: (not shown)
Shoulders: Shoulderpads of the Forgotten Gate
Back: (not shown)
Chest: Incendic Chestguard
Hands: Cindersilk Gloves
Waist: Scouting Belt
Legs: Ceremonial Leather Loincloth
Feet: Phoenix-Down Treads
Weapon: Head-Lopper Skullscythe

My pet wolf Dusk matches this transmog rather well don’t you think? It was refreshing to see a monk in an outfit that defies the stereotype. Well done to this sensational stranger!

Earthy Pandaren Monk by Zuiyu for Eluvia’s Autumn Collection

I have the pleasure of showing off another one of my friend’s mogs today. Zuiyu is a Pandaren Monk, who has chosen to emulate the image of a hardworking Pandaren (who is also a badass Monk) rather than a Shadopan.

WoWScrnShot_040614_061216

Here he is showing off those moves I was mentioning earlier. (credit to Zuiyu himself for this screenshot).

The earthy tones give the character a really grounded feel, the straw hat is a possible nod to a hardworking past or present of the character, but the gemlike stones on the bracers and golden belt buckle hint at glory beneath the humble exterior.

panda.1

A serene location for the “Photo shoot”. A place where this character would feel at home.

panda.3

I wanted to show off the shoulder pad detail. I like to imagine that those claws might be removable to be thrown like knives. (yes yes, we all know he is not a rogue, but that would be sweet right?)

panda.2

Here is the list of items used:

Head: Straw Hat  (This also exists in the cloth, mail and plate armour classes)

Shoulder: Mantle of Gnarled Overgrowth

Back: Farstrider Defender’s Cloak

Chest: Korloff’s Raiment

Wrist: Bracers of Simmering Fury

Hands: Troublesome Gloves

Belt: Green Belt of Hushed Wisdom (Monk only)

Legs: Leggings of the Empty Throne

Feet: Haal’eshi Boots

Weapon: Sword of the Falling Sky

There are many other weapons that you might want to combine with this look, but I decided to just list the ones that Zuiyu is currently using, and see what some of you out there come up with. I like the simplicity of this sword and so will not add a list of more elaborate looking ones.

Thanks to Zuiyu for showing off this transmog outfit!  I would love to see more Monk transmog ideas. Post some comments if you have something to share. Thanks for coming by Mogs by Murph3tte.
